Have Ye Heard Tell O' The Time Jack Was Marooned...

"My dear friends, let us not forget our dear friends, the cuttlefish!"
Love that line. Today mates, I shall share with you all a fanfiction I wrote based on an idea that my dear aunt Q on the forum had. In her luv'ly story, bonny Jack found himself in the position of havin' ta take his niece, Eliza on his ship... against his will and inclinations. My story picks up right after Jack relents and takes Eliza on board. Enjoy mates!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“So Miss Eliza, what thinks ye of the Black Pearl?” Gibbs leaned against the ships railing next to her.
“I love it!” her eyes brightened. “Where did Uncle Jacky ever get such a gorgeous boat?”
Gibbs winced a bit, wondering what the Captain would have to say about being called ‘Uncle Jacky’. He cleared his throat, “Well, let’s just say Miss, that’s a rather long story.”
“To long for right now?”
He coughed again. “Aye, miss. A sight too long for right now.”
“Well, if you’ll tell me a shorter story about dear old Uncle Jack, I’ll sing you a song.”
Gibbs sighed, “A story, right now?”
“Right now, please.”
“Very well.” He sat down heavily on a large rum barrel, but his eyes had just the hint of mischief in them. “Have ye ever heard tell about how Jack was marooned for three days and three nights on the Island of Misfit Toys?”
Eliza’s eyes widened. “Where is that at?”
Gibbs searched the sky, “Um, it be way up north, where it snows a lot.”
“Oh,” She nodded. “What sort of place is it? It doesn’t sound too pleasant.”
“Aye, that it’s not.” He shook his head. “It’s a terrible sad sort of place. Ya see, that be where all the toys who are a bit odd, so to speak, get sent. No one wants them.”
Eliza looked indignant. “Why, I’d want them, even if they are odd. And there are plenty of children who have never had proper toys who like them too. Besides, living at sea, with pirates, sort of gets you used to oddities. Not that you are odd,” she added hastily. “I like you all so very much.”
“Would you like me to continue me story?”
“Oh yes, of course. I am sorry.”
“So ya see, there be where all the misfit toys go, like John-in-the-boxes, Rudolph the Blue Nosed Reindeer, dolls that only close one eye… well, ye get the picture. So anyhow, there be Jack, marooned on the island, where the winds be howlin’ and the snow be blowin’, and not a soul in site.”
“Where were the toys?”
“Well, they was hidin’. The captain doesn’t look very much like the kind of folk who’d be playin’ with toys now does he? So, naturally, they was frightened.”
“So, what did Uncle Jack do?”
“Well, he stood ankle deep in the water, for those three days and three nights, till all manner of arctic creatures came a-crawlin’ into his presence. Then on the third day, he roped himself a couple of sea lions, ran a cord through their mouths like the reins on a horse, and rode them all the way to Tortuga.”
“Really?” Eliza breathed. She thought, “Well, what did he use for rope?”
Gibbs thought. “Well, now let me see…”
“Human hair,” said a voice. “Off my back.”
Gibbs leapt to his feet, spluttering. “Captain, sir, I didn’t hear ye. Excuse me sir, I was just telling your niece hear about the time, that you, er, um, were, marooned, um, sir.”
“Yes I know. Which time?”
“The time you were marooned off the Island of Misfit Toys, Uncle Jacky. Why, have you been marooned more then once? And what about the toys? Who marooned you there?” Eliza rattled out.
Jack looked curiously at her. “The Island of what?” He looked at Gibbs. “Mr. Gibbs, what have you been telling my bonny lass?”
“Excuse me, Captain, I’d best be seein’ to my duties.”
“Slander and calumny! Come back, sir and that’s an order! I want to know what bloody stories you’ve been spreading this time….”
Eliza watched her uncle chase after the unfortunate first mate, then shrugged and turned back to the railing. “Yo, ho! Yo ho! A pirates life for me!”
THE END!
I do sincerely hope you liked it mates.
Next stop, Tortuga!
Good mornin' luv. For today I am going to give you a piece of literary artwork that I have stumbled across in me travels. Though since I am the one who wrote it, it can't really be called artwork, because artwork is never called artwork by those who wrote it unless those who wrote, and quite obviously wrote it, wrote it in order for it to be artwork. (My pathetic attempt at talking like Jack.)
So without further ado...
A little somethin' I wrote for writing class.
“What port we puttin’ into next, Bill?”
“Not sure, Jim, but Ah’ve ‘eard that the Cap’n’s thinkin’ about landin’ some where’s on Jamaica. Prob’ly to drop off this pirate ‘ere. ‘Ello there mate. Come to drop off some food for you, though tis more ‘n the likes o’ you deserve.”
“My appreciation mate. Now I overheard that this fine little boat, sorry, ship, might be heading towards a pretty little place called Jamaica. Am I right?”
“We’re not sure. An’ if we did know, we wouldn’t be tellin’ it to you.”
“To a pirate, you mean. Well I’m sorry you feel that way mates, could’ve helped you out a bit.”
“What do mean?” the two asked together.
“Well, for example, I just happen to know,” offered the pirate, “that your bonny Cap’n whatshisface is afraid…”
“Our Cap’n Smith ain’t afraid of nothing, ain’t that right Bill?’”
“My apologies, I’m sure he’s not, gentlemen. But then how is it that he is hesitating at making port in Jamaica? Because he has heard that England re-gained control over the island? Because the reigning bonny monarch has threatened to punish anyone connected to a certain power called, oh what was it? Ah yes, the East India Trading Company?”
“The Indian Star ain’t connected to any East India Trading Company, right Jim?”
“That’s right. Never even ‘eard o’ the thing.”
“What!” exclaimed the pirate, “Never heard of the company that had nearly taken over the Caribbean before the bonny British Navy caught up with it? Where have you been the past ten years mates? Shanghai?”
“Well, I suppose I ‘ave ‘eard o’ it,” admitted Jim.
“I thought you might have. And I am correct in saying that your ship is connected in some way with the bloody EIC?”
“It is not,” Bill retorted.
“Fine, your captain is then, right? And most of her crew?”
“The crew ain’t,” replied Jim.
“But your captain is?”
“Now see ‘ere,” interrupted Bill, “why do you want to now this any ‘ow? An’ what’s your name?”
“You don’t know it? Too bad mate. Now be quiet if you please, I was in the middle of a conversation with this gentleman over here with the splendiferous tattoos,” returned the pirate. “Now, as you were saying, the captain is connected?”
“Well, I don’t know much as it is, I only joined a year ago, but I do thinks that the Cap’n might be sailin’ under some kind of orders.” Jim replied hesitantly.
“Thank you for verifying that. Now, I have thought of an alternative port, if you think that your captain would be interested in hearing about it.”
“Now see ‘ere,” said Bill angrily, “I don’t know what you’re up to, but our Cap’n ain’t interested in anything a pirate like you might suggest.”
“Do you want to save your bloody neck?”
“What?”
“Hmph. If your bally ship, the Indiana Tar or what ever it is, sails into one of those ports on Jamaica, your bonny captain and all his crew will be imprisoned or hanged for treason to the crown, savvy?”
“Oh”
“I thought you’d see my point. Now have either of you ever heard of Tortuga?”
“Tortuga? Where’s that?”
“Never ‘eard of it.”
“Oh good. Anyhow, you convince your Cap’n, Slipp wasn’t it? Smith? Well, get your Cap’n Smith to make port in Tortuga, the only port left that the British don’t occupy by the way, and then him, you and the rest of the bloody crew can get off free, savvy?”
The two crewmen glanced at each other. “Savvy,” they replied, and dashed off up the stairs.
The pirate chuckled as he leaned back. “Well mate,” he said to himself. “Next stop, Tortuga and freedom!”
The End!
It came out in theaters on July 9th, so I was going to do this that week, but due to a tragedy around that time, it has been postponed until today.
Feast Day
St. Christopher is a saint that I have been invoking since I began driving (and learning to drive) last year. He was a third century mayrter, but other than that, the rest that is known about him is considered legend. According to legend, Christopher had the job of guiding travelers across a stream. One night, a child appeared, asking to be carried across. Christopher complied, but as he crossed the stream the child's weight became so great that it nearly crushed him. The Child was Jesus Christ.
St. Christopher is the patron of travel, travelers, people who carry things and drivers of all kinds. He is one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers.
St. Christopher... Pray for us!
Note: I must ask St. Christopher's fogivness, for I mistakenly thought his feast was JUNE 25th, and posted accordingly. I have now moved it to the right date.
Resquest for your opinions and a TTFN!
I shall be gone for a few days from the computer, so I shall post tomorrows outfit on Monday. But before I leave, there is something I would like to ask your opinion on.
My mom recently posted about dressing in a feminine manner/modesty on her blog, mentioning the Week in Feminine Dress in it. After she did so, there was - is actually - a person who stepped forward with the view that this could be considered vain. I shall post the comments to avoid confusion:
Anonymous said...
beware, vanity!
Anonymous said...
So sorry. The vanity comment was refering to the dress for a week.
Anonymous said...
Dear Lady Rose, while dressing in a feminine manner is laudable, the attention to detail and the numerous photos could be an occasion for vainglory. Because of the simplicity of wearing a t-shirt and a skirt, it seems showy to post so many photos.
Now, I believe this person is more then entitled to their opinion, and I thank them for bringing forth points that have given me things to reflect about, and to make sure that I wasn't doing this out of vanity. I may also add, that I do not think I am.
So I was wondering what the rest of you all thought. Could this be considered vanity? Is it too showy to post many photos of the details?
Now I think that if one has the wrong attitude, it could indeed be an occasion for vanity and vainglory. Here is my response (before the last anonymous comment):
Dear anonymous,
Out of curiosity, why do you think that the Week in Feminine Dress is vain? I can certainly see how it could be, but may I inform you that the girls who do it are not doing so to say "Look at me! I am wearing feminine dress for a whole week! See how much better I am then you?"
Let me quote the young lady whom I first heard about this from:
[...]Four times a year - spring, summer, fall, and winter - the ladies at the Sense and Sensibility forums have what we call A Week in Feminine Dress. Those participating dress in feminine attire over the course of the week to show how skirts and femininity are both pretty and practical, and we share our day-to-day pictures with one another.[...]
I do not see this as something where we are trying to display how much better dressed we are then others, but as a way to show that dressing in a feminine matter can be both pretty and practical. I also see this as another way of encouraging others to dress similarly, that they are not alone, there are others out there who do wear the same kinds of clothing that you do and to not be afraid.
I would now like to respond to the showy part: I do not think that the photo's of the details are showy. I put them there, because I - like many girls I am sure - enjoy seeing all the little details of clothing and examining, sometimes wondering if I could recreate that. That is my opinion.
So now I would like yours.
Could this be considered vanity?
Is it showy to post so many photos, as well as photos of the details?
What do you think overall of the Week in Feminine Dress?
Why?
Please though, remember to keep all your comments charitable! I thank the anonymous person for doing so, and hope the rest of you will as well. God Bless!
TTFN - Ta ta for now!
Summer WIFD ~ Day 6
Greetings! Today I am slightly more dressed up (I consider this a nicer outfit), since we will be attending the Miles Christi Night of Recollection tonight. It is a very beautiful time, with Mass, Confession and two spiritual talks.
My top today is two different shirts for a layered look. The bottom shirt - a very lovely rose colored sweater type- is a passed-on shirt, as is the tan shirt on top. I hit on this combination one day when I felt like coming up with something "new" to wear. The neckline on the tan shirt come far too low for me to ever where on it's own with comfort, so it is a good choice for layering.
In this photo, you can see both the necklace that I am wearing today, as well as the pretty lace-like edging on the pink shirt. I recived the necklace from a cousin on my graduation from 8th grade. The three circles say 'wish', 'spirit' and 'laugh'. It is pretty enough, and really like the chain.
The skirt I have donned today is - guess what: NOT from Wal-Mart or a thrift store! Yay! It is from the store Christopher and Banks, and I received for my 16th birthday. The cream, pink and tan pattern allow it to be worn with a shirt of any of those colors. The skirt is mostly linen, which gives it a different feel then the rest of my summer skirts.
My earings today are these very pretty gold hearts with pink roses on them that my parents gave my for my birthday. Quite pretty, as well as elegant!
My hair is pulled back in my usual hairstyle with a clip that used to be my moms. I really like the flower design on it, as well as the red center.
So that is today's week in feminine dress! There are no wackiness, quotes or other absurdities because I did not feel like adding those today, and also, my mother said I more likely than not scared all my readers away. I don't believe her.. but if I don't get any comments, I guess she is right. (Hint, hint... leave a comment!)
God Bless Y'all!
Pure Poetry
Ladies and gentleman, I interupt this Week of Fanatical Dress to bring you one of the most beautiful and moving songs I have ever heard. Here is a music video with it on there, and it also is now playing in my music playlist.
Lyrics are as follows. Hope you cry.
HOMEWARD BOUND
Words and Music by Marta Keen
In the quiet misty morning, when the moon has gone to bed,
When the sparrows stop their singing and the sky is clear and red,
When the summer's ceased its gleaming, when the corn is past its prime,
When adventure's lost its meaning, I'll be homeward bound in time.
Bind me not to the pasture. Chain me not to the plow.
Set me free to find my calling and I'll return to you somehow.
If you find it's me you're missing, if you're hoping I'll return,
To your thought I'll soon be list'ning; in the road I'll stop and turn.
Then the wind will set me racing as my journey nears its end,
And the path I'll be retracing when I'm homeward bound again.
Bind me not to the pasture. Chain me not to the plow.
Set me free to find my calling and I'll return to you somehow.
In the quiet misty morning when the moon has gone to bed,
When the sparrows stop their singing, I'll be homeward bound again.
Summer WIFD ~ Day 5
Welcome to Thursday's edition of "A Week in Feminine Dress!" Today I am wearing - uh, er.... um... My head, Yaviel's body and Lady Kathleen's legs!!!! Good heavens! That isn't what I put on this morning! Who did this? Who's idea? What scandalous traitor has convinced the idea for this dastardly... What? Oh, it was me? I see.
So this is what I am really wearing today! Another summer time outfit, taken - once again - with the sun in front of me so I can't open mine eyes! I shall have to remember tomorrow to find a spot that is facing away from the sun!
So, my skirt is a pretty peasant-ish style - typically refered to as a broomstick skirt - that I got from...... any guesses? Anyone? I won't tell you where, but leave your guesses in the comment box and when the first person to get it right gets it right, I shall spill the beans. But honestly... it shouldn't be too hard to guess! If you can't.... you have not read my past posts! (There, now I've just practically spilled the beans)
I like this skirt, because it so light and flowy, and due to the many patterns and colors, I can wear almost any color top! For the record, it goes with white, pink, purple, turquoise, blue, and probably even green!
My top is a turquoise "v" neck that I am almost positive came from Wal-Mart... wait! Ha Ha! It didn't!!!! I remember!!!!!! I got it three years ago as a birthday present along with a skirt that didn't fit! And... and.... it was from Kohls!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, that is a first! Usually I can't remember - but I did!!!!!!!
Today mine hair (which almost looks redddish to my poor deluded hopeful mind) is pulled back in a clip from what could very well be re-named "Lady Rose's Closet". Where else but... Wal-Mart. Gosh, I really have to go non-Wal-Mart tomorrow... this is getting so repetitive!
But it is a lovely clip, and works very well for pulling back part of my hair or all of it!
And I am afraid the lovely cornflowers - I think that is what they are - got the best of me. Hmmm... wonder if they were poppy's in disguise? I have never heard of a cornflower making someone unconcious.... or from the er, lovely expression on my face.... dead. Aw, I am dead? That is so sad! No more week in feminine dress!!!! What ever shall I do? =O
But wait! I am revived again! (Ha, fooled you!)
Thank you for once again dealing with my nuttiness - which is significantly more toned down today then it was yesterday. But what can I say? (Except quote another movie?)
"Would you love me if I was anything but what I am?" Courtesy of Tia Dalma there folks, Pirates 3.
See ya tomorrow!
Summer WIFD ~ Day 4
Kathleen: Hey Rose! Nice skirt!
Me: And it's cursed!
Kath: Is it really? Does it happen to have secret inscription of ancient evil on it?
Me: Hmm... well let's see... it says
ACHOO!!!! (Ooh! My hair looks red!!!!!)
Kath: Look below that!
Me: It says....
The wearer of this skirt is gorgeous!!!!!!
Kath: Just get on with the fourth day will you!
Me: *sniff* Fine!
OK, so today is - quite obviously - the fourth day in my Week of Fearsome - I mean Feminine - dress. (Forgive me.... I am in a bit of a wacky mood today! *mutters* To much awesome Redwall fanfic...)
So today I am wearing what might be my all time favorite skirt and absolute best thrift store find! Such a gorgeous minty green.
And these fantastic sparkely, multi colored ribbons running through it... ah! Such beauty!!!! The glow! How mesmerizing! (Told you I was wacky!)
And my gold shirt matches those beautiful um... flowers ... behind me to perfection!!!! What a stroke of brilliance in taking my photos there! And no I do not know where I got this shirt!!! But I like it! =)
I am also wearing a Miraculous Medal heart necklace that I wore in this post, and a gold circle head band that I wore in this post!
(Yikes! We are all affected by this strange madness! My beloved brother tis sining Rudolph the Red Nosed Raindeer!)
Now! Begone all of you! I tire of your presence!!!
No, not really. I just had the urge to take a um... weird photo. (I am sure I will be regretting putting it on here in about... a year.) But the queen of clean... I mean the princess of, of, what rhymes with princess? The maid of shade.. Yes that reminds me...
As you can see in the darling photo below, I am squinting in the sun. Like I said:
No trees
No shade
No rest for poor Smeagol.
He's a sneak.
Now that I have completely scared you all away from my blog .... Farewell! Do not expect tomorrow's post to be as entertaining as this... but then again... you never know!!!!!
Summer WIFD ~ Day 3
Today, for a nice change of scenery, I took the photos on my grandparents lovely front garden. Little bench, pretty flowers, nice trees... quite different from the no trees/cornfield scenery of my home! And shade... ah! Blessed thing!
Well, today I am wearing another Wal-Mart treasure: the ever popular and famous denim tiered skirt which almost everyone seems to own! Photos of the details on this skirt can be found in this post. It really is a nice skirt! Depending on the top, it can be worn for almost any occasion!
Today I paired my skirt with this soft pink top from who-knows-where. Honestly, I wish I could remember where I got some of my clothing... but, it seems I have so much else that is nigh impossible! At any rate, it is a very nice shirt!
The neckline has a "v" dip in it, which doesn't come too low, so that is nice. It is bordered by elegant stitching, which you can see in this slightly blurred photograph.
I have my hair pulled back in a, well, it isn't exactly a barret. What it is is one of those leather strips with the two holes and you push the stick through the holes, with your hair between the stick and the leather. I got mine from Wal-Mart a couple of years ago, and my hair was actually too thick for it. But either it streatched, or once I got my hair cut it became thinner, because now it works just fine! I love the flower design on it.
Being someone who loves jewelry, I am wearing a pink stretch bracelet that I got as a prize in piano lessons a few years back. (About five... I think.) Simple, yet pretty.
And that, my fair readers, is the end of today's entry in the Week in Feminine Dress!
Coming Tomorrow: Even more clothes! (Terribly sorry Paul.... =)
Summer Week in Feminine Dress - Days 1 and 2
Well, I can never seem to get these things started on the day I wish! But that is my fault... yesterday I was staying off the internet all day... which almost worked. (But things came up and...)
So I shall once again do days 1 and 2 in a single post! First is day 2 because... that is just how the photos ended up.
So today I am wearing an outfit that I was surprised with on my return home my first year at camp. It is a pretty as well as airy outfit that quickly became one of my favorites!
The top is a medium purple polyester/cotton/spandex mix from Wal-Mart with a "V" neck and buttons. I also wear this with several other skirts.
The skirt was one of those Wal-Mart treasures that one - if lucky - stumbles upon from time to time. It is also purple with a beautiful (and sparkley!) design around the bottom. The skirt is nice and wide, which makes it a great pick for dancing and girls club. The waist has drawstrings with little bells on the ends.
Here is a close up of the circles which are placed about knee height all around the skirt. There are about six sequins in each circle, helping to give this skirt a shimmer!
And here is the pattern around the bottom edge: more sequins!!!!!! (and flowers!)
And that is my outfit today! Photographs courtesy of my sister, Lady Kathleen.
Now for the featured outfit for Day 1! Yesterday I wore a beautiful white blouse from Blair that I had bought for Easter.
As you can see, it has gorgeous embroidery around the bottom of the blouse as well as a few leaf and flower cutouts as well. The cutouts are low enough not to cause problems, but due to the thinness of the fabric, a camisole is necessary for this outfit.
The sleeves also have a lovely design around the edges, giving them a nice finish.
With the blouse I wore my khaki skirt that I found at a thrift store last fall. A bit plainer then my usual choice for Sunday Mass, but we were all wearing the white and khaki outfits that we had donned on Saturday (for family photos) to Mass, so I needed to fit in there!
To complete the outfit and help dress it up some more, I wore my necklace that I believe my great-aunt gave to me. (I am sure more knowledgeable family members will correct me if I am wrong!). It has a Miraculous Medal as well as a pretty gold cross on an elegant chain and dresses up any outfit!
So that, my dear readers, is what I have been wearing for my WFD so far. It is to be hoped that in the Fall I shall start on time!
Coming Tomorrow: More clothes (Sorry Paul!)
My Online Relatives....
I am sure you have noticed that I mention various "sisters" and "brothers" from time to time. (Important note, when they are in those quotation marks, they aren't my real brothers and sisters.) Where do they come from? You may ask. Well, with nothing else to do today, I thought I might clear things up for the uninitiated.
My "relatives" - I like calling them my spiritual relatives - are all from the famous Fairy Tale Novels Forum, which is basically the online home for many of the fans of Regina Doman. Throughout the Forum's six month existence, from time to time people would exclaim "Sister! *hugs*" when coming across someone who had the same interests as them. Some "kept" that relationship. During the ...er... slightly infamous engagement episode on the forum, I adopted the 'bride' (Raewyn) as my daughter. Over time, acquired another "daughter" and a "son". Things began escalating, and Elena, suggested that we begin a thread devoted to sorting out our "family members". Thus the beginning of the most popular thread I have ever started.
Pretty soon, people began asking to be "adopted". (For the record, forum member "Donteatfish" was the first). We are all now pretty much interconnected in various ways and have four thriving "homes", which I will list later. First though, our family tree with notes by moi - in italics.
The Fairytale Forum Family Tree
(thus far)
Fairy Godmum: Lillymaiden
parents/grandparents - Regina Doman = Andrew (authors husband)
Those immediately below this text are the aforementioned couples "children".
Elena - Lady Rose /Miss Fishy [twins] - Master Paul (aka Mr. Darcy) - Meg - RoseofSpring - - AutumnRose - Lady Raina
From here comes the various families of the forum
Elena = Theodred (Yes, Eomer and Eowyn's cousin)
They reside at Rivendell
Lady Clare -Delaney - Lanta (Theresa) - Kittycat - Donteatfish - Lady Rachel - Lady Lucy (booketgirl11)- Lady Sarah - Lady Andie - Lady Ithilian - Baby Ewan
Lady Rose= King Peter the Magnificent
They reside at Cair Paravel in the winter and Bag End in the Summer.
Grace/Littlewanderer[twins] - Gwendolyn~Rose - Thisishome - Aussie - Monnieb - Phantomess - Maskedviolinist - Puritylover
Paul = ?????
Marceg (deceased) :'(
Meg = Edward ~ MJ(lovesballet) MJ is Edwards "mom"
They reside at Cullen Manor
Lady Blanche - Froggy - Marie - Anastasia - Emmy - Elphaba - Trinamariah
servant: Mamselle D Wait... how did she end up a servant? *shrugs* Oh well.
Great-Aunt Qiscrazy
Residing at what I think is called The Weeping Willow Estate
adopted children
Carpe, Hadassah, Rosemary
And that, my dear readers, is my large and lovely family! So I hope you won't be too confused in the future when I mention my dear "daughters" "sisters" "brother" and "nieces". And now I must go tell my family that they are all famous now....
By the way, if any of you ever join the forum, I am sure someone would be more then happy to adopt you! *whispers* See me first!!!!!
Ps. If you are confused... see the comment box below? You have my permission to use it!
*gasps and falls over laughing*
OK, while looking up elvish words and names for my latest post on the FT Fellowship blog, I ran into the most rediculous, absurd, inaccurate and hysterical "synopsis" of the Lord of the Rings I have ever read! (Courtesy of Arwen-Undomiel.com) Enjoy!
A Brief Synopsis of The Lord of the Rings
One of the often-recurring requests on the newsgroup
rec.arts.books.tolkien is from students requesting a synopsis of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic work The Lord of the Rings. The work is extremely long, and because of this many students simply can't find the time to give the work a thorough reading before giving a written report on it. In the interests of cutting down the number of requests for this material, I have written a short synopsis of the three volumes which make up the Lord of the Rings as well as an accompanying synopsis for Tolkien's posthumous book The Silmarillion.
As an added supplement, I have also listed some possible topics for term-papers and book reports for those who don't feel a desire to come up with their own.
Of course, I feel compelled to point out that a much better understanding of Tolkien's work can be achieved by reading the actual books;.... READ THE FUNNY PART HERE!!!!
(And then leave your thoughts!)
Photos from camp!!!!!
Yes, they are finally here! Many apologizes, here is the album, let me know if it doesn't work and I will attempt to change/fix it! There are two, one from camp, another of the camp skits. Enjoy!!!!
