I've been bitten by the sewing bug this summer, my latest project being a new, bright green best dress for Sundays and other nice occaisions.
I made it using the Simplicity pattern 5189, the pink one on the picture up there. It's a fairly simple and fun pattern to make. The only altering i did was to add a ribbon as the sash, thus giving it a sort of a waistband.
I love it, Rose! The green you chose is so pretty, and those flutter-y sleeves are a dream! The pattern cover looks simple and even boring, but you made up such a gorgeous dress with it. I wish had a little more time to sew...
ReplyDeleteOh, goodness! That's such a sweet dress, Rose! I wish I could sew like that! :D
ReplyDeleteRose, How pretty this dress is! Wow! I love it. and the sleeves are to die for. What a beautiful color you have. I love green. Great work and good luck with all your sewing projects!

ReplyDeleteAnd isn't that sewing bug wonderful! To steal a line from Fiddler on the Roof: "May God smite me with it...and may I never recover!" ;)
Love,
Josie
