Summer WIFD ~ Day 5

Welcome to Thursday's edition of "A Week in Feminine Dress!" Today I am wearing - uh, er.... um... My head, Yaviel's body and Lady Kathleen's legs!!!! Good heavens! That isn't what I put on this morning! Who did this? Who's idea? What scandalous traitor has convinced the idea for this dastardly... What? Oh, it was me? I see.



So this is what I am really wearing today! Another summer time outfit, taken - once again - with the sun in front of me so I can't open mine eyes! I shall have to remember tomorrow to find a spot that is facing away from the sun!

So, my skirt is a pretty peasant-ish style - typically refered to as a broomstick skirt - that I got from...... any guesses? Anyone? I won't tell you where, but leave your guesses in the comment box and when the first person to get it right gets it right, I shall spill the beans. But honestly... it shouldn't be too hard to guess! If you can't.... you have not read my past posts! (There, now I've just practically spilled the beans)
I like this skirt, because it so light and flowy, and due to the many patterns and colors, I can wear almost any color top! For the record, it goes with white, pink, purple, turquoise, blue, and probably even green!


My top is a turquoise "v" neck that I am almost positive came from Wal-Mart... wait! Ha Ha! It didn't!!!! I remember!!!!!! I got it three years ago as a birthday present along with a skirt that didn't fit! And... and.... it was from Kohls!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, that is a first! Usually I can't remember - but I did!!!!!!!



Today mine hair (which almost looks redddish to my poor deluded hopeful mind) is pulled back in a clip from what could very well be re-named "Lady Rose's Closet". Where else but... Wal-Mart. Gosh, I really have to go non-Wal-Mart tomorrow... this is getting so repetitive!
But it is a lovely clip, and works very well for pulling back part of my hair or all of it!


And I am afraid the lovely cornflowers - I think that is what they are - got the best of me. Hmmm... wonder if they were poppy's in disguise? I have never heard of a cornflower making someone unconcious.... or from the er, lovely expression on my face.... dead. Aw, I am dead? That is so sad! No more week in feminine dress!!!! What ever shall I do? =O


But wait! I am revived again! (Ha, fooled you!)

Thank you for once again dealing with my nuttiness - which is significantly more toned down today then it was yesterday. But what can I say? (Except quote another movie?)

Summer WIFD ~ Day 4

Kathleen: Hey Rose! Nice skirt!
Me: And it's cursed!

ACHOO!!!! (Ooh! My hair looks red!!!!!)
Kath: Look below that!

Me: *sniff* Fine!

OK, so today is - quite obviously - the fourth day in my Week of Fearsome - I mean Feminine - dress. (Forgive me.... I am in a bit of a wacky mood today! *mutters* To much awesome Redwall fanfic...)

So today I am wearing what might be my all time favorite skirt and absolute best thrift store find! Such a gorgeous minty green.

And these fantastic sparkely, multi colored ribbons running through it... ah! Such beauty!!!! The glow! How mesmerizing! (Told you I was wacky!)

And my gold shirt matches those beautiful um... flowers ... behind me to perfection!!!! What a stroke of brilliance in taking my photos there! And no I do not know where I got this shirt!!! But I like it! =)
I am also wearing a Miraculous Medal heart necklace that I wore in this post, and a gold circle head band that I wore in this post!
(Yikes! We are all affected by this strange madness! My beloved brother tis sining Rudolph the Red Nosed Raindeer!)

No, not really. I just had the urge to take a um... weird photo. (I am sure I will be regretting putting it on here in about... a year.) But the queen of clean... I mean the princess of, of, what rhymes with princess? The maid of shade.. Yes that reminds me...
As you can see in the darling photo below, I am squinting in the sun. Like I said:
No trees
No shade
No rest for poor Smeagol.
He's a sneak.

Summer WIFD ~ Day 3

Today, for a nice change of scenery, I took the photos on my grandparents lovely front garden. Little bench, pretty flowers, nice trees... quite different from the no trees/cornfield scenery of my home! And shade... ah! Blessed thing!

Well, today I am wearing another Wal-Mart treasure: the ever popular and famous denim tiered skirt which almost everyone seems to own! Photos of the details on this skirt can be found in this post. It really is a nice skirt! Depending on the top, it can be worn for almost any occasion!

Today I paired my skirt with this soft pink top from who-knows-where. Honestly, I wish I could remember where I got some of my clothing... but, it seems I have so much else that is nigh impossible! At any rate, it is a very nice shirt!

The neckline has a "v" dip in it, which doesn't come too low, so that is nice. It is bordered by elegant stitching, which you can see in this slightly blurred photograph.

I have my hair pulled back in a, well, it isn't exactly a barret. What it is is one of those leather strips with the two holes and you push the stick through the holes, with your hair between the stick and the leather. I got mine from Wal-Mart a couple of years ago, and my hair was actually too thick for it. But either it streatched, or once I got my hair cut it became thinner, because now it works just fine! I love the flower design on it.

Being someone who loves jewelry, I am wearing a pink stretch bracelet that I got as a prize in piano lessons a few years back. (About five... I think.) Simple, yet pretty.

Summer Week in Feminine Dress - Days 1 and 2

Well, I can never seem to get these things started on the day I wish! But that is my fault... yesterday I was staying off the internet all day... which almost worked. (But things came up and...)

So I shall once again do days 1 and 2 in a single post! First is day 2 because... that is just how the photos ended up.


So today I am wearing an outfit that I was surprised with on my return home my first year at camp. It is a pretty as well as airy outfit that quickly became one of my favorites!

The top is a medium purple polyester/cotton/spandex mix from Wal-Mart with a "V" neck and buttons. I also wear this with several other skirts.


The skirt was one of those Wal-Mart treasures that one - if lucky - stumbles upon from time to time. It is also purple with a beautiful (and sparkley!) design around the bottom. The skirt is nice and wide, which makes it a great pick for dancing and girls club. The waist has drawstrings with little bells on the ends.


Here is a close up of the circles which are placed about knee height all around the skirt. There are about six sequins in each circle, helping to give this skirt a shimmer!

And here is the pattern around the bottom edge: more sequins!!!!!! (and flowers!)

Now for the featured outfit for Day 1! Yesterday I wore a beautiful white blouse from Blair that I had bought for Easter.

As you can see, it has gorgeous embroidery around the bottom of the blouse as well as a few leaf and flower cutouts as well. The cutouts are low enough not to cause problems, but due to the thinness of the fabric, a camisole is necessary for this outfit.

The sleeves also have a lovely design around the edges, giving them a nice finish.


With the blouse I wore my khaki skirt that I found at a thrift store last fall. A bit plainer then my usual choice for Sunday Mass, but we were all wearing the white and khaki outfits that we had donned on Saturday (for family photos) to Mass, so I needed to fit in there!


To complete the outfit and help dress it up some more, I wore my necklace that I believe my great-aunt gave to me. (I am sure more knowledgeable family members will correct me if I am wrong!). It has a Miraculous Medal as well as a pretty gold cross on an elegant chain and dresses up any outfit!

So that, my dear readers, is what I have been wearing for my WFD so far. It is to be hoped that in the Fall I shall start on time!

My Online Relatives....

I am sure you have noticed that I mention various "sisters" and "brothers" from time to time. (Important note, when they are in those quotation marks, they aren't my real brothers and sisters.) Where do they come from? You may ask. Well, with nothing else to do today, I thought I might clear things up for the uninitiated.

My "relatives" - I like calling them my spiritual relatives - are all from the famous Fairy Tale Novels Forum, which is basically the online home for many of the fans of Regina Doman. Throughout the Forum's six month existence, from time to time people would exclaim "Sister! *hugs*" when coming across someone who had the same interests as them. Some "kept" that relationship. During the ...er... slightly infamous engagement episode on the forum, I adopted the 'bride' (Raewyn) as my daughter. Over time, acquired another "daughter" and a "son". Things began escalating, and Elena, suggested that we begin a thread devoted to sorting out our "family members". Thus the beginning of the most popular thread I have ever started.

Pretty soon, people began asking to be "adopted". (For the record, forum member "Donteatfish" was the first). We are all now pretty much interconnected in various ways and have four thriving "homes", which I will list later. First though, our family tree with notes by moi - in italics.
